Breast Implants. MRI Interventions

MRI is the gold standard for breast implants diagnostics.

Indications for MRI include suspicion of rupture or insufficiency of implants. According to literature, 30 to 50% of findings on MRI are not visible on a second-look ultrasound.

For better diagnostics outcomes doctors should be able to localize the finding on MRI and be aware about MR-guided biopsy technique.

Within the course, Prof. Uwe Fischer will dive into features of diagnostics of implants and breast reconstructions and share techniques for performing MR-guided interventions: preoperative localization and biopsy.

Breast Implants. MRI Interventions (3 modules in the entire course)

MRI diagnostics of breast implants, various flaps, and changes in the breast requires strong knowledge and high skills of the doctor. Within the course, Uwe Fischer will share techniques and tips for performing various interventions under MRI guidance: preoperative localization and biopsy.This course will provide you with the necessary knowledge to fully utilize MRI.

Features of diagnostics of implants and breast reconstructions

In this module you will learn the various techniques and procedures related to aesthetic interventions, allogeneic access, and implants in MRI. You will explore visualization of different types of flaps, lipo-filling, intramammary hyaluronan and silicone injections on MRI. You will dive into the types of breast implants and their visualization on MRI, localization and will master in MR protocols for detecting complications post-implantation.

Complications and pathologies associated with breast implants

In this module you will learn how to identify and diagnose implant rotation, invagination, capsulitis, capsule fibrosis, and gel bleeding on MRI. You will deepen your understanding of the signs of intracapsular rupture and how to classify these issues using Baker's classification system. You will develop proficiency in breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma and master in the criteria for diagnosing patients with implants
